Eagle Direct Marketing has been tasked to handle list broking for the Imperial War Museum in London. Their first undertaking is a project for the forthcoming “The Children’s War” exhibition, which focuses on the impact of the Second World War on those who lived through it. Targeting is based around older individuals who have their own stories to tell about the war years, rather than “conventional” museum visitors. Commenting on the appointment, Eagle’s Business Development Director Richard O’Hara said, “This is testament to our ability to really understand the fine detail of a brief, and make list recommendations which tightly match what’s required, instead of simply off-the-peg proposals.”
Eagle Direct Marketing Recruit Two to Drive Development Eagle Direct Marketing has recruited two senior managers to champion the development of their mailing/fulfilment and database services. Andy Casling joins as General Manager, with a remit to overhaul and develop Eagle’s mailing services. He will be overseeing an investment programme worth some £200,000 over the next 12 months, which will see the installation of C4 and C5 enclosing lines and two polywrapping lines at their new site on the outskirts of Bristol. Casling spent 12 years at Polestar prior to joining Eagle. He says, “There is a real niche to be exploited in short-run mailing services as mailers move away from mass mailings to more targeted communications. We are ideally placed to offer the speed and efficiency that they need, and we have the flexibility to react to changing circumstances.” Richard O’Hara joins as Business Development Director, relocating from North Yorkshire, where he spent 10 years in direct marketing with the RAM Media Group. He will be expanding the company’s list sales offerings, begun by the recent launch of the Public Sector Data lists. Other areas for development will be list broking and database marketing. O’Hara says, “Eagle Direct Marketing has a tremendous reputation for quality data services, and we will be considerably increasing our offerings to clients and list buyers. The range of facilities we now provide - from data to mailing - gives us the ability to offer a full service under one roof, or to mix-and-match as our clients require.”
Eagle Flies with New Name, New Home and New Acquisition This comes at a time of tremendous growth for the company, including investments in new personnel, equipment and range of services offered. Commenting on the change of name, Managing Director David Tye says, “Eagle Direct Marketing is much more representative of the wide range of services that we offer, and puts us on a stronger footing to compete with industry competitors regionally and nationally. A key part of this development is the acquisition of Crewe-based Electronic Data Solutions, leaders in the provision of unique mailing lists of public sector organisations, including hospitals, local government, universities and colleges. The data set will be re-branded as Public Sector Data, and sold by Eagle’s existing sales team from the new offices. David Tye adds, “We are confident that Public Sector Data will be an extremely attractive list to a huge variety of clients, and we will be working to promote it to a much wider audience.”
